My shower is only coming partially clean using Water Spot Remover - why? The key to getting surfaces clean is getting the application pad prepared correctly. Two application pad preparation rules to follow: 1. The more Water Spot Remover you can build up in the application pad, the better it works. Our application pad preparation instructions say to work 3 tablespoons of Water Spot Remover down into the fibre of the pad. If you lose some initial product while getting started, add a bit more to make up for this. REMEMBER: once the application pad is well impregnated and working well you will only add small amount of additional product as you clean. 2. If the paste on your application pad is too damp you will get poor results. If the paste appears shiny or slippery it is too damp; sprinkle a bit more Water Spot Remover onto the pad and work it into the fibre. The paste should be only slightly darker than the dry Water Spot Remover powder. The other thing to remember is the more pressure you apply the quicker you will get results. A BAD build up of water spots / stains takes effort to remove. Once you get it clean, keeping it clean with C-thru Shower Shield and C-thru Water Spot Remover is very, very easy. Note: We have found instances where surfaces (glass in particular) have been damaged beyond repair by the use of harsh chemicals and other inappropriate cleaning products and methods. Hint: Make sure you also clean the outside of the shower glass the first time you clean your shower. We have had a few calls / e-mails from customers who were only getting a 90% result until we suggested they check the other side of the glass - where they also had a much small amount of water spots.
Put a small amount of Water Spot Remover into a cup or dish and add a small amount of water (approximately 3 parts Water Spot Remover to 1 part water) and mix into a thick paste. Dip the bristles of an old toothbrush into the paste and use the toothbrush to scrub these hard to get at edges and nooks.
C-thru Water Spot Remover is completely safe around painted window frames. Water Spot remover contains no harmful acids or chemicals and will not harm paintwork. The warning on the label is intended to stop people from using Water Spot Remover for cleaning painted surfaces. The Scratch Proof Application Pad is not considered scratch-proof on soft surfaces such as paintwork. Using Water Spot Remover and/or the Scratch-Proof Pad on painted surfaces could dull the painted finish. Hint: C-thru Water Spot Remover is also very good at removing paint overspray from glass.
Water Spot Remover is most effect when applied with our scratch proof application pads. Remember, not all scrubbing pads are created equal and most pads can scratch the surface. Anything pad designed to be abrasive will scratch. Applying Water Spot Remover with a cloth is not very effective. Contact us to obtain additional C-thru Scratch Proof Scrubbing Pads.
How long a cleaned surfaces remains clean depends on several factors: the water quality in your area, how thoroughly the surface has been cleaned with Water Spot Remover, how often the surface is exposed to contamination i.e. how often your shower is used, and other cleaning methods used on the surface. Water spots are formed by the minerals in water getting trapped in the microscopic pits and indentations in the glass. Once this process begins the water spots begin to build faster and faster as more non-smooth area is formed. Applying C-thru Shower Shield to your cleaned shower glass will help minimise the problem of water spots. Shower Shield creates an invisible barrier that keeps the natural occurring minerals in our water supply from bonding to the glass.
No worries - the white residue is merely dry C-thru Water Spot Remover; simply wash off with fresh water. Most users tend to clean their car windows, chrome, etc with Water Spot Remover and then wash the exterior of the car in the usually way to give the entire car a bright, clean look.
C-thru Water Spot Remover would have to be one of the safest cleaning products on the planet. C-thru is 100% organic, natural and safe (you could actually eat it, but it doesn't taste that great). When applying C-thru Shower Shield you could wear rubber gloves to prevent your hands from drying out (it has an alcohol base) but it is otherwise harmless on your skin.
